While we have produced client content for display at the show in the past, it was incredible to be invited to attend, and make the rounds with the "who's who" of the rotor world. Seriously, if you get a chance to go to HAI, it's an exciting experience. All the major players in the chopper world are there, including many influential players from niche, or related industries.
Of course, the MD Helicopters booth was a lively, engaging hot-spot with the unveiling of their 530G attack helicopter for Malaysian Army Aviation, and CEO Lynn Tilton's press conference (which is always a big draw, and featuring a congruent cocktail hour!) But, also exciting were the spacious Sikorsky, Bell, and Leonardo (formerly, AgustaWestland) booths, with their interactive displays, concept aircraft, and delightful SWAG.
From a photography and filmmaking perspective, we enjoyed the smaller than deserved, but tremendously exciting booth from Shotover, the innovative and industry-leading gyro stabilized camera systems giant. They had an interactive display. We interacted. We checked our bank account. It had enough for more rum and Coke at the Renaissance Hotel bar while we reviewed the free literature from Shotover.
Overall, great time in Vegas with some great friends and colleagues! Looking forward to an exciting 2018 in aerospace media production!
